Principle

The main components of a pneumatic winch include a drum, a rotary-action pneumatic motor, a reduction gear, a clutch connecting the reduction gear with the drum, and a double-acting pneumatic cylinder. Here's a detailed breakdown of these components:

Drum: The drum is the central component where the cable or rope is wound. It rotates to lift or pull the load.

Rotary-action Pneumatic Motor: The pneumatic motor converts the energy of compressed air into mechanical energy, driving the rotation of the drum.

Reduction Gear: The reduction gear reduces the speed of the pneumatic motor to increase torque, making it suitable for lifting and pulling heavy loads. Some models may be equipped with self-braking worm gearing to increase reliability.

Clutch: The clutch connects the reduction gear with the drum, allowing for smooth engagement and disengagement of the drive system. It may include a ratchet wheel mounted on the drum and a pawl installed on the movement transformation mechanism.

Double-acting Pneumatic Cylinder: The pneumatic cylinder provides the power for the clutch to engage and disengage. It has two chambers, the rod space and the piston space, which communicate with the input of the pneumatic motor through corresponding main lines and valves. The translationally moving member of the pneumatic cylinder is connected with the drum by means of a movement transformation mechanism and an overrunning clutch.
