When encountering faults in the operation of wire rope electric hoists, the following are six common causes of faults and corresponding elimination methods for your reference:
Power fuse burnt out:
Cause of malfunction: One phase of the power fuse is broken, causing the motor to start in a single phase with zero starting torque, resulting in the motor being unable to rotate.
Solution: Check and replace enough fuses to ensure normal power supply.
Voltage too low:
Cause of malfunction: The grid voltage is too low, causing the starting torque to be unable to overcome the load torque and not reach the operating speed.
Solution: Increase the grid voltage appropriately to ensure that the voltage is within the normal operating range of the equipment.
Short circuit, open circuit:
Cause of malfunction: Short circuit between stator windings, grounding or open circuit, and incorrect wiring of control equipment.
Solution:
Check the stator winding of the motor and eliminate issues such as short circuits and grounding.
Check the wiring of the control equipment to ensure correctness.
If the circuit cannot be connected due to poor contact of the contactor, sandpaper should be used to smooth out the contact marks on the contactor, and the contactor should be replaced if necessary.
The brake of the lifting motor is not working properly:
Cause of malfunction: Excessive clearance of the conical brake, oil stains on the brake friction surface, excessive wear on the brake conical friction surface, or fatigue of the pressure spring.
Solution:
Loosen the screws, remove the fan brake wheel, and wipe off the oil stains on the friction surface.
Fine tune the locking nut to achieve the appropriate clearance for the brake.
Replace the pressure spring or replace the brake.
Oil leakage from the joint surface of the reduction gearbox:
Cause of malfunction: Insufficient tightening of bolts, poor gasket or packing.
Solution: Check and tighten bolts, replace or repair gaskets and fillers.
Excessive load or faulty transmission machinery:
Cause of malfunction: The power of the electric motor matched with the electric hoist is unreasonable, the lifting weight is overloaded, or the transmission mechanism is faulty.
Solution:
Remove some of the load and check if the motor can start normally.
If the motor can start normally, it indicates that there is a fault in the transmission mechanism such as the gearbox, and the fault should be checked and cleared.
Overloading the use of electric hoists is strictly prohibited, ensuring that they work within the safe load range.
In addition, to ensure the safe operation of the wire rope electric hoist, it is also necessary to pay attention to the following points:
Regularly inspect and maintain the electric hoist, including key components such as electrical systems, brakes, limiters, etc.
Operators should undergo professional training, be certified, and strictly adhere to operating procedures.
During use, attention should be paid to avoiding improper operations such as collisions, overloading, and speeding to extend the service life of the equipment.
For faults and abnormal situations discovered, they should be promptly handled and recorded for subsequent analysis and improvement.
